The LIGO Analysis Tool software has been updated to a new version (v0.31). The most important change is that every analysis session is now run in it's own "slot" directory. One practical effect of this is that there is no longer a long string of numbers and characters in the names of image files, which makes them easier to save to a student's PC desktop. I've also done some work on how the tool finds its data source, which will make it easier for me to put new updates in place in the future. Please let me know if you find any problems or bugs.

Version 0.32 of the LIGO Analysis Tool has now been released for testing. If no major problems are found then it will become the new version of the analysis tool in a week or two. The main changes or improvments are: * Fixed problem where y-axis lable gets moved to left edge of pad whenever a plot is modified. * For the lower user levels the input selection box is a vertical list of items, not one horizontal bar. A "sampling" item has been added, though it is fixed on "minute trend, mean" for now. * user_level 2 (beginner) is not allowed to run an analysis over 300 sec (5min). A warning is shown if over 60 sec (1min). * User's session is automatically reset if it's over an hour old. * user_level 5 (Super-Expert) shows up for 7 seconds but then reverts to "Advanced" - just to show off that higher levels are possible * Authentication can either be based on a user's personal account on the discussion site (using BOINC's auth system) or using a 'guest' account (using HTTP Basic auth via web browser). Fixed "forgotten password" link, and fixed logout. If you are logged in via a 'guest' account you are told you must close your browser to really be logged out. Cross-site authentication is still not available. This is just for authentication by one of two methods on the same server. * GDS monitor names show up in plot title (now just "EARTHQUAKE") (but it's not yet updating in real time in the channel selector) * macros.php looks for $tla_src_path and includes all file with that prefix. This will makes things a bit more portable.

Version 0.33 of the Analysis Tool is now the 'test' version. It contains all of the features and fixes of 0.32 plus what is listed below. (v0.32 will not be put into production). * Cross-server authentication works. * Add sub-microseism 0.01-0.3Hz BLRM channels * Add working GPS clock for advanced users, implemented in JavaScript. * Head-shot images on auth_required.php make it easier to choose between user login and guest login. * Internal: Organize each display page to handle inputs in proper order. Debug level is adjusted first, reset is tested last, as it will clear anything before it, as it should. Then show "general" variables, then variables specific to the page. * Auto_apply now works in all cases * Split require_authentication() to a separate piece check_authentication() just to check for authentication. * Split handle_reset() into a part to check and a part to do it. * If /tmp/debug exists and we can open a file there for writing then all debug messages are copied there. * Added "units" to the channel Object, and set it for BLRMS and PEM channels.

Version 0.33 of the Analysis Tool is now the Production version. I've noticed a problem where if someone is logged in to an individual account, uses the Analysis Tool, and logs off from there, followed by somone else logging in, then if they access the Analysis Tool they will appear to be logged in as the first user, not the second. This is harmless, and I will find the problem and fix it in a later release.
